KABUL, October 6 (RIA Novosti) - The number of people injured in a two-vehicle pileup in northern Afghanistan has risen to 55, the Afghan state information agency Bakhtar said on Monday.
Earlier local health officials said 19 people had died with a further 29 injured, when a goods truck collided with a passenger bus in northwest Afghanistan on Monday.
The incident occurred on a highway in the Dushi district of Baghlan province. "Seven of the injured are believed to be in a critical condition," a healthcare spokesman said.
In a similar accident Sunday, seven people were killed and two injured in the country's northern Balkh province.
