MOSCOW, October 10 (RIA Novosti) - A total of 307 deaths, not including the recent conflict with Georgia, were reported in the Russian armed forces in January-August, a Defense Ministry source said on Friday.
None of the deaths were combat-related.
Of the 45 deaths in August, 19 were suicides. The rest were the result of accidents and speeding and other violations of road traffic rules.
The death toll does not include Russia's losses in the August 8-12 military conflict in Georgia, which left some 60 Russian soldiers dead.
