Medvedev met the Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao in the Kremlin on Tuesday and pointed to intensive high-level contacts between the two countries' leaders, who have already met three times this year.
"Another, fourth meeting will take place in the near future in Lima," Medvedev said.
One of the most highly anticipated events at the APEC summit in Lima is the signing of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) for the Asia-Pacific Region, which will be established on the basis of previous trade agreements signed by APEC's 21 member countries.
A number of bilateral documents were signed earlier in the day at a meeting between Jiabao and Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
"Stability and security in the Asia-Pacific Region and in the entire world depend on our countries which share the world's longest border," the Chinese official said.
Russian Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina announced at a bilateral economic forum on Tuesday that trade between Russia and China was expected to total $50 billion in 2008.
