CAIRO, October 28 (RIA Novosti) - Egypt's health ministry has set up a special commission to find out how a 13-year-old girl from the country's Sharqia province could have survived without food and water for more than a year, the MENA news agency said on Tuesday.
The girl's relatives claim she has not consumed any food and water since surviving a serious reaction to an allergy over a year ago. Nevertheless, the girl is relatively healthy, has a normal way of life, and has not lost weight.
A group of the country's leading psychiatrists, pediatricians, as well as specialists in endocrinology and blood chemistry are to carry out a complete examination of the girl.
If Egyptian doctors fail to solve the puzzle, she will be sent for further examination abroad.
