TASHKENT, November 4 (RIA Novosti) - Two staffers at the Russian Embassy in Uzbekistan died in a car crash in neighboring Kazakhstan on Tuesday, the embassy's charge d'affaires said.
The accident occurred at 10:30 a.m. local time (05:30 GMT) near the village of Maktashi in the Saryagashsk district, near the Uzbek border.
Yury Sereda, head of the consular section at the embassy in Tashkent, was driving a car with Alexei Pimenov, an embassy employee, in the passenger seat when the vehicle crashed into a public minibus, Charge d'Affaires Vazykh Serazev told RIA Novosti.
Both Russians died at the scene.
The minibus driver and four passengers were injured, and were taken to a hospital.
"We are doing all in our power to bring the bodies of our staffers to Tashkent, and then to Moscow," Serazev said.
