MOSCOW, November 5 (RIA Novosti) - A landmark department store in central Moscow is not on fire as earlier reported, a law enforcement source said on Wednesday.
It was previously reported that the building was "engulfed in flames."
The source said that smoke from a nearby hotel had been mistakenly thought to be coming from the department store, leading firefighters to believe that the building was on fire.
The smoke had apparently come from the nearby Savoy hotel, which may have been caused by a guest putting too much firewood onto a fireplace in one of the suites.
