The Egyptian delegation also includes Minister of Tourism Mohamed Garana, Transport Minister Mohamed Mansour, Minister of Petroleum Sameh Fahmy, Minister of Foreign Trade and Industry Rachid Mohamed Rachid. The visit is at the invitation of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
The talks will focus on increasing bilateral trade and implementing long-term joint projects, the Russian government's press service said in a statement.
"Cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy, the oil and gas industry, the development of high-tech and transport infrastructure is also expected to be discussed," the press service said.
Bilateral trade between Russia and Egypt exceeds $2 billion, excluding tourism. Some 1.8 million Russians are expected to visit Egypt in 2008.
