MOSCOW, November 12 (RIA Novosti) - The temperature in Moscow on Wednesday reached 8.9 degrees Celsius (48 degrees Fahrenheit), setting a new record for November 12, the Moscow meteorological service said on Wednesday.
"At 3:00 p.m. Moscow time (noon GMT), a temperature of 8.9 degrees Celsius was recorded, surpassing a reading set in 1977 by 0.1 degrees Celsius," the service said.
The Russian capital has seen a spell of unusually warm weather this week. The usual average temperature in November in Moscow is -1.9 degrees Celsius (28.5 degrees Fahrenheit).
Last month was the warmest October on record in Moscow, with an average temperature of over 9 degrees Celsius (48.2 degree Fahrenheit).
