BEIJING, November 22 (RIA Novosti) - A blaze broke out at a hotel in Luliang, in northern China, on Saturday killing eight people and injuring another 16, the Xinhua news agency has reported.
The fire occurred at the Jintian Hotel in the Shanxi province. All of the hotel's seven floors were set ablaze, a local government's spokesman told the agency.
He added that the lives of the injured were out of danger. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
The fire victims have not yet been identified.
Xinhua said that "some of the hotel rooms were leased to businesses, including a local television and some advertisement companies and travel services."
