SOCHI, December 6 (RIA Novosti) - A fire broke out in a bus depot in the south Russian city of Sochi after a possible arson attack, destroying eight buses, local authorities said.
An emergencies spokesman told RIA Novosti that the fire started at 9:30 p.m. local time, and spread over an area of 200 meters in a depot housing 70 buses. Sixteen fire engines were brought in to battle the flames.
No casualties were reported.
A spokesman for the local firefighters said the reason for the fire is not yet known, but that "the management of the bus company had recently had a conflict with the owners of the plot of land where the company is based."
Total damages have been estimated at 13 million rubles ($470,000).
