MOSCOW, December 9 (RIA Novosti) - Unknown assailants attacked cash couriers on Tuesday near a bank in downtown Moscow, killing one of them and stealing around 20 million rubles ($715,000), a police source said.
"Three unknown suspects attacked cash couriers near a commercial bank on Taganka Square. After shooting one of the cash couriers with a pistol, the assailants grabbed the bags of money and fled in a dark blue VAZ car," the source said.
The investigating committee of the Moscow Prosecutor's Office said in a statement that there were four attackers and they were all wearing masks.
Police are continuing to work at the scene of crime.
