BELGRADE, December 12 (RIA Novosti) - The government of Montenegro resolved on Friday to officially submit a membership request to the European Union, the governmental press service said.
Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic is expected to personally hand the request to French President Nicolas Sarkozy, whose country holds the rotating EU presidency, on Monday in Paris.
Before a country enters official EU membership talks, the decision to adopt a new member should be approved by all 27 member states.
