MOSCOW, January 3 (RIA Novosti) - Burglars stole cash and valuables worth 27 million rubles ($935,000) from a house in the Moscow Region, police said on Saturday.
Police said that a 40-year-old businessman reported the burglary on Friday night after he returned to his home in a village in the south of Moscow.
"The criminals took a safe, which weighed 50 kg and contained 1 million rubles, jewelry and Swiss watches," the police spokesman said.
The owner had been away from his home since December 30 and returned Friday to find the safe missing.
The victim also reported that some 10 exclusive watches had been stolen.
The total loss was estimated at 27.4 million rubles.
