MOSCOW, January 5 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Team Kamaz truck of Firdaus Kabirov took second place among heavy trucks in the second stage of the Dakar 2009 rally, held this year in South America.
A second Kamaz truck came in fourth and the third was fifth. GINAF trucks came first and third, with stage winner Gerard de Roy taking the overall lead.
The third stage takes place later on Monday.
This year marks the first time that the world famous rally, founded in 1979, has taken place outside Africa. The 9,500-kilometer (5,900-mile) race stared on Saturday and will end on January 18 in Buenos Aires.
