ROME, January 11 (RIA Novosti) - Three people, including an 80-year-old woman, were killed on Sunday when a residential building collapsed after an explosion in Bari, southern Italy, the ANSA news agency reported.
Four people have been rescued from under the debris, and rescue work is continuing with the Bari mayor helping emergency workers.
Thankfully, the three children who lived in the building, home to three families, were outside when the blast occurred.
The blast is believed to have been caused by a gas leak.
Household gas blasts in Italian towns are often caused by mishandling of gas containers, with most such accidents occurring in winter.
