STOCKHOLM/MURMANSK, January 13 (RIA Novosti) - Nineteen sailors were rescued from a Russian trawler that got into difficulties in the Barents Sea on Tuesday, Norwegian NRK radio reported.
Port authorities in Murmansk, where the Topaz-A is registered, said one of the trawler's crew had died in the incident. A spokesperson for the Norwegian sea rescue service said it was the vessel's captain.
The spokesperson said the alert had been received at 3:13 p.m. local time (14:13 GMT) and the sailors were taken aboard a Norwegian ship within an hour. Two injured crewmembers had been airlifted by helicopter to Spitsbergen for medical treatment.
The vessel's owners, Murmansk Trawler Fleet 3, refused to comment on the incident.
