KIEV, January 16 (RIA Novosti) - Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko is ready to consider proposals of European companies on overcoming the current gas transit crisis, his press service said on Friday.
Russia has brought together major European gas utilities in a consortium that could supply Ukraine with the technical gas it says is needed to pump exports through its pipelines.
"The head of the Ukrainian state confirmed his readiness to consider in details proposals that are currently being prepared by European gas companies," the press service said in a statement.
