MOSCOW, January 21 (RIA Novosti) - Romanian police have caught a thief they were searching for over the last four years hiding under his mother's bed, national media said on Wednesday.
Petru Susanu, 39, was put on the police wanted list in 2005 on theft charges and had been hiding in his mother's home ever since.
Police were able to locate Susanu thanks to tip-offs from neighbors, who noticed that Susanu's mother was constantly buying cigarettes and beer, though she neither smoked nor drank. The cigarettes were the same brand that Susanu had constantly stolen from the local store.
Susanu will spend the next four years in jail.
