MOSCOW, January 22 (RIA Novosti) - The head of a private company has been shot dead by unknown assailants in northwest Moscow, a police source said on Thursday.
The incident, which police believe was a contract killing, occurred late on Wednesday, the source said.
"Two killers shot the 35-year-old Muscovite near his house with guns fitted with silencers. After carrying out a control shot, the attackers left their weapons at the scene of the crime and fled," he said, adding that at least seven shots had been fired.
The name of the victim, who headed a company producing heaters for electric power substations, has not yet been disclosed.
