The "Our Artists" gallery is located on the Rublevo-Uspenskoye highway, an area home to many of Russia's wealthy citizens.
Natalya Kurnikova purchased Putin's painting "A Pattern on a Frost-Covered Window" at a charitable auction on January 17 for $1.13 million, making it the most expensive lot at the annual event in St. Petersburg. The proceeds from the auction went to a children's hospital.
"There is such interest in Putin's painting, that we decided to display it in a separate hall," she said. "The painting will be displayed on the third floor of the gallery."
The picture was given to a professional artist to touch up after Putin had finished his work. The Russian prime minister spent twenty minutes on the painting, according to the organizer of the auction.
The second most expensive lot sold at the auction was a painting of a blizzard scene by St. Petersburg Governor Valentina Matviyenko, which fetched $353,000.
