TEHRAN, January 25 (RIA Novosti) - Iran executed six people convicted of drug trafficking and other crimes in a prison in the northeastern province of Khorasan Rasavi, local media reported on Sunday.
All the convicts were executed by hanging in a prison in one of the province's centers, the media reported without saying when the executions took place.
Since the start of this year, Iran has executed around 35 people for especially grave crimes.
Iran holds the second place in the world after China by the number of executions. Iran rejects accusations by the West that it is violating human rights.
