BEIJING, January 31 (RIA Novosti) - Police killed a jealous husband believed to have murdered five people in central China, the Xinhua news agency reported Saturday.
A public security official told the agency that Liu Fangjun, 38, was thought to have stabbed his wife and parents-in-law to death on Thursday in Taojiang county in Hunan Province. A doctor and his ambulance driver son called to the scene suffered the same fate.
Police officers who arrived later told the man to surrender his knife, but he refused to follow their instructions despite warning shots, and they shot him dead.
Fangjun suspected his wife was cheating on him. The couple's 6-year-old son was not harmed in the incident.
