RIO DE JANEIRO, February 8 (RIA Novosti) - At least 24 people died after a small passenger plane crashed into a river in Brazil's Amazon jungle, the country's firefighting service said on Sunday.
The plane crashed amid heavy rain into the Manacapuru River some 80 kilometers (50 miles) from Manaus, the capital of the Brazilian state of Amazonas, on Saturday.
Four people, including a 9-year-old girl, have been rescued. It is yet to be clarified how many passengers were on board the plane.
