KABUL, March 2 (RIA Novosti) - The radical Islamic Taliban movement said on Monday it had killed 11 police officers and captured 15 more in western Afghanistan, a local radio station quoted a Taliban representative as saying.
According to Kari Yusuf Ahmadi, the incident occurred on Sunday in the Farah province, where Taliban fighters attacked a construction company and killed its guards.
"Eleven policemen were killed, 15 captured and six police cars were burned," he said.
A deputy governor, Yunus Rasuli, denied the police deaths, saying all those killed or captured were construction company workers.
