KABUL, March 4 (RIA Novosti) - Ten Taliban militants were killed and two captured on Wednesday in clashes in southern Afghanistan's Helmand Province, a spokesman for the provincial administration said.
Eight militants were killed in a clash with troops of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in the Garmsir district.
"A field commander of the insurgents... was among the eight dead," Daud Ahmadi said.
However, a Taliban spokesman said all those killed were civilians.
Two militants were killed and two captured when a group of fighters was ambushed in the provincial capital of Lashkar Gah.
