MOSCOW, March 25 (RIA Novosti) - Moscow Ocean Park, the largest aquarium complex in Europe with an area of 180,000 square meters, will be built in Moscow in 2011, a source in the city administration said on Wednesday.

Located in Victory Park in western Moscow, Ocean Park will include an aquarium with an area of 24,000 square meters, a cinema, a hotel, business and shopping centers, restaurants and a leisure complex.

"The heart of the aquarium will be an acrylic tunnel that will create the effect of being on the seabed. Passing through it, visitors will be able to see the underwater life of sea creatures," the source said.

Visitors will be able to observe some 6,000 creatures from seas around the world, including a devil fish, as well as shark shows and the remains of shipwrecks. The complex will host over 60 permanent displays, supported by 2,000 staff including microbiologists, scuba divers, and vets.

A unique underwater theater troupe will also perform its shows as part of the Ocean Park.

The cost of the project is estimated at over $600 million. Around 1.5 million people are expected to visit the Ocean Park per year.
