NOVOSIBIRSK, April 15 (RIA Novosti) - A homeless Russian man from southwest Siberia, whose philosophical movie about his relations with society is set to debut at Cannes, is preparing to shoot a musical love story.

"I have a new script - a musical film where I will play one of the main roles," Leonid Konovalov said in the interview with RIA Novosti.

He said his new film will tell his love story with an actress from a theatre in Kemerovo, in southwest Siberia. Konovalov said he plans to invite the woman to star in the film but he was not sure she would agree.

"The film will be about our love on the back of hate against me," Konovalov said. He said work on the new film would start as soon as he received the royalties for his debut picture.

Konovalov, 62, a former military man who said he has not showered for 19 years and collects bottles for recycling to earn money, shot his first movie called "I + People = ?" with the help of a local cameraman.

In the film, which he characterizes as "erotic and philosophical," Konovalov says scavenging at the garbage dump is the world's best job as the homeless people who come there in search of food have no bosses and therefore are free.

The man's film was sent to Cannes by his daughter, who lives abroad with her husband, the Rossiyskaya Gazeta daily said. The festival, to open on May 13, accepted the film and invited its director to attend the participants' press conference.
