MOSCOW, May 2 (RIA Novosti) - The head of South Ossetia's Supreme Court has been killed in a road accident, a statement by the republic's state information committee said on Saturday.
The statement said that the accident occurred on Friday evening after Atsamaz Gabulov lost control of his car, which overturned and crash into a tree.
The accident is being investigated but the committee said the crash occured "as a result of a technical fault on the vehicle."
Gabulov is reported to have died instantly from head injuries. His passenger, Alborov Atsamaz, was seriously injured and is being treated in an intensive care ward.
Gabulov was appointed head of the republic's Supreme Court in 2007.
