"On Thursday May 7, Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko will pay a working visit to the Czech Republic. In Prague, the head of state will take part in the summit of the European Union's Eastern Partnership foreign policy initiative," the statement said.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also announced Tuesday that an invitation has been sent to Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, but said no decision has yet been reached on whether she will take part.
The Eastern Partnership program, introduced late last year, will officially begin on May 7 in the Czech Republic, which holds the rotating presidency of the EU until July 1.
The director of the EU department in the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said Tuesday that the Ukrainian delegation at the summit will probably be led by Tymoshenko.
Earlier sources in Brussels said both Yushchenko and Tymoshenko will represent Ukraine at the summit.
