MOSCOW, May 25 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian government should finalize its proposals in the coming two to three months for cuts in budget spending amid the ongoing economic crisis, Kremlin economic aide Arkady Dvorkovich said on Monday.
Dvorkovich said budget spending would be cut in terms of GDP in 2009 compared with last year.
At the same time, spending in some areas could increase during the process of budget adjustment to give the economy the best chance of developing in the future, he said.
In particular, the implementation of national projects will continue to create an incentive for the economy's modernization. "Substantial state funds will be spent on them," Dvorkovich said.
Dvorkovich also said that Russia's accrued reserves should be spent accurately to set aside funds to ensure social commitments are maintained.
