BRUSSELS, May 26 (RIA Novosti) - A man has been jailed for a year by a Belgian court for harassment after sending almost 200 emails and letters of complaint to local authorities.
The Bruges court also fined Henri Vandenbosch 1,100 euros ($1,540) over the incident, Belgian's RTL television reported on Tuesday.
After he was forced to move his sports club from a local park in 2002, Vandenbosch began sending complaints to the Blankenberge city administration. He continued sending letters of protest until April 2007, when the local administration finally lost patience and took him to court.
The members of the sports club concerned were enthusiasts of petanque, a game similar to lawn bowling.
