MOSCOW, May 28 (RIA Novosti) - Spanish Champions Barcelona gave a wonderful display in the UEFA Champions League final on Wednesday night in Rome with a 2-0 win against a Manchester United.
Barcelona opened the scoring in the 10th minute at the Stadi Olimpico with their first attack when Samuel Eto’o cut inside of Manchester defender Vidic to strike the ball past Van Der Sar for a 1-0 lead.
Barcelona had to wait until the 70th minute for their second goal when Lionel Messi got on the end of a beautiful cross from Xavi to send the ball flying into the back of the net.
The win ended United manager Alex Ferguson's dream of Manchester becoming the first football club to retain the title.
