TYUMEN, June 3 (RIA Novosti) - A two-car pile up left seven people dead and another seriously injured in West Siberia's Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area on Wednesday, a local emergencies spokesman said.
The accident occurred mid-afternoon along a stretch of the Surgut-Nizhnevartovsk highway. Six people died at the accident scene and the seventh victim was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital. Doctors are fighting to save the life of the injured person.
The crash is believed to have occurred as a result of poor weather.
An accident investigation is underway.
