MOSCOW, June 4 (RIA Novosti) - Heavy rain and strong winds have left 25 people injured in central Russia, an emergencies ministry spokesman said on Thursday.
Strong winds swept across Russia's Central Federal District on Wednesday evening. Krasnozavodsk in the Sergiyev Posad District northeast of Moscow was hit hardest.
"Most of victims suffered injures of moderate severity," the spokesman said adding that no fatalities had been reported.
Electricity supplies were cut to 307 populated areas with a population of over 55,000 people in the Moscow, Smolensk, Ryazan, Bryansk, Kaluga, Vladimir, Yaroslavl, Tambov and Tver regions.
Some 300 emergencies officers and about 90 vehicles are currently involved in repair operations.
