ST. PETERSBURG, June 7 (RIA Novosti) - Russia could set up joint ventures with other countries for the development of unused arable land, Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov said on Sunday.
Zubkov told the World Grain Forum in St. Petersburg that Russia's unused arable land totals 20 million hectares.
Developing the land would provide good prospects for the development of agricultural production, he said.
The first World Grain Forum opened in Russia's second largest city on Saturday, with participants focusing on grain prices, food security and technology.
