GAZA, June 9 (RIA Novosti) - A delegation of 41 European Parliament members arrived in Gaza on Tuesday to study the situation in the war-torn Palestinian enclave.
The delegation of MEPs from 15 countries is led by Luisa Morgantini, vice president of the European Parliament.
The delegation is expected to visit areas damaged by Israeli military strikes.
At least five Palestinian militants were killed on Monday in a border shootout with Israeli troops. The battle was the most severe since the three-week Israeli air and ground offensive in Gaza in January, in which at least 1,300 Palestinians were killed and 5,000 injured.
