JAKARTA, June 16 (RIA Novosti) - An explosion at a coal mine in Indonesia's West Sumatra province has killed at least five people and injured another 10, Xinhua said on Tuesday.
"The methane blast...killed five people and seriously injured ten others," an official with a local disaster management agency said.
He also told the news agency that while a rescue operation was underway, there was little hope for the remaining 30 to 40 miners still believed to be trapped underground.
The mine is located near the city of Sawahlunto.
