BAKU, June 17 (RIA Novosti) - About 30 people including women and children gathered on the seventh floor of a building under construction in Azerbaijan, and threatened to jump off in protest against a relative's imprisonment, local media reported.
Police and Emergencies Ministry officers came to the scene, near Teze Bazaar trade center in Baku, and persuaded the family to come down.
The family was demanding the release of businessman Chingiz Mailov, and an end to police persecution against them, the reports said.
Ten of the family members have been detained for police questioning.
