MOSCOW, June 19 (RIA Novosti) - CSKA Moscow president Yevgeny Giner confirmed on Friday that the club had received a bid for defender Sergei Ignashevich, a reported target for English Premier League club Everton.
Russia's Sport Express daily reported earlier in the day that Everton had expressed interest in center back Ignashevich as a replacement for England defender Joleon Lescott, who has been linked with a move to Manchester City.
"We have received a very interesting offer from abroad," Giner was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
The 29-year-old CSKA captain is a regular in the Russian national side, with 48 caps for his country, scoring three times. He was a member of the Russian team that reached the semifinals of Euro 2008, appearing in all the side's games after the opening 4-1 defeat to Spain.
He has been at CSKA since 2004, signing from cross-town rivals Lokomotiv Moscow.
