Russia's new Project 11540 frigate, the Yaroslav Mudry, was officially
handed over on Friday to the Russian Navy. The warship will later join
the Baltic Fleet.
An official ceremony was held at the Yantar Shipyard in Russia's
Kaliningrad exclave in the Baltic region.

The Yaroslav Mudry is armed with anti-ship missiles, medium- and
short-range air defense systems, a 100-mm artillery mount, depth
charges, and a Ka-27 helicopter.
The Yaroslav Mudry is a multipurpose frigate, although its primary
mission is to provide anti-submarine, anti-ship, and anti-aircraft
defense to naval task forces and convoys.
The frigate is the second vessel in the 11540 Yastreb series after the
Neustrashimy, which recently took part in an anti-piracy operation in
the Gulf of Aden.
The ship has a displacement of 4,250 tons, a maximum speed of 30
knots, and a range of 3,000 miles. It is 125 meters long and 14 meters wide. The crew comprises 210 personnel, including 35 officers.
