MOSCOW, July 29 (RIA Novosti) - A Moscow court turned down a compensation claim filed by a man injured by an off-duty police officer who went on a shooting spree, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported from the courtroom on Wednesday.
On April 27, Denis Yevsyukov, 32, then district head of the Tsaritsino police department in southern Moscow, killed three people and injured six others at a local supermarket.
A compensation claim of five million rubles ($160,000) was filed against the Moscow authorities by Ilya Gerasimenko, who was injured in the head and stomach in the shooting.
Yevsukov did not attend the court hearings.
