ATHENS, August 6 (RIA Novosti) - A British man on holiday in Crete suffered second-degree burns after a Greek woman became infuriated by his "indecent" behavior in a bar and set fire to him, national media reported on Thursday.
The Star channel said the incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday in the resort town of Malia. The 20-year-old British man reportedly made crude advances towards a 26-year-old student while drunk.
The woman, from the local capital Heraklion, poured a bottle of Sambuca over the man, and set him on fire with a cigarette lighter, before fleeing the scene.
The tourist suffered burns to his chest and midriff, and is being treated in hospital. The woman turned herself in at the local police station a few hours later and confessed to the attack. Prosecutors will question her on Thursday.
