MOSCOW, August 6 (RIA Novosti) - A polar bear at the Berlin zoo who became a pet for all Germany will "marry" in September and maybe one day have a family, Tagesspiegel newspaper said on Thursday.
Knut was rejected by his mother after his birth in December 2006 and cared for by zoo staff, principally Thomas Dorflein, who died unexpectedly last September.
Knut's "bride" Gianna, who is three years old, will arrive in Berlin from Munich in mid-September when renovation works start at her home zoo.
However, Knut had better start wooing his new companion quickly as Gianna is due to return to Munich once work on her enclosure is complete.
