MOSCOW, August 20 (RIA Novosti) - Tottenham Hotspur may sell one of their strikers, but it will not be Roman Pavlyuchenko, the Russian international's agent has said, citing the club's chairman.
Oleg Artemov also said in an interview published on Friday in Sport Express that Spurs were not interested in letting Pavlyuchenko go on loan to Italian club Roma. The forward has played two minutes of the club's opening two Premier League games this season.
"I spoke to club chairman Daniel Levy, and he assured me that Harry Rednapp was satisfied with Roma's work and was counting on him. Levy also asked me to calm Roman down over his failure to get in the team," the agent said.
Artemov also claimed that Levy had told him that if Tottenham did sell a forward, "then the first candidate would not be Roman. The club has a much more attractive offer for another striker."
Robbie Keane and Jermain Defoe have started both games up front for Tottenham this season. The side also recently bought giant forward Peter Crouch from Portsmouth.
Pavlyuchenko scored 14 times for Tottenham in his debut season at the club. The majority of these goals came in the Carling Cup.
