MOSCOW, September 3 (RIA Novosti) - Rescuers have found a body among the debris of an underground multi-story car park in Moscow, which collapsed during construction work on Thursday morning, an investigator said.
Around 600 sq m of the car park on Kozhevnicheskaya Street near central Moscow collapsed, trapping four people under the rubble. Earlier, rescuers said all four had been rescued and admitted to hospital with injuries.
Anatoly Bagmet said criminal proceedings have been launched on charges of breaching building safety regulations, resulting in loss of life.
In mid-June, a building in central Moscow collapsed during renovation work, killing three construction workers. Construction officials cited unauthorized work to extend the basement as the cause of the accident.
