MOSCOW, September 5 (RIA Novosti) - A man in Brunswick, southeast Georgia, U.S., who called 911 to inform them that his whole family was killed in a mobile home, has been arrested and charged on eight counts of first degree murder, CNN reported.
"My whole family's dead. It looks like they've been beaten to death," Guy Heinze Jr., 22, the son of a victim in the slayings, told the emergency service when he called last weekend.
Glynn County Police Chief Matt Doering said that initially Heinze was charged with evidence tampering and drug possession, but later the police came to suspect him of involvement in the eight murders.
A police statement said: "This arrest is the result of a compilation of physical as well as testimonial evidence."
Seven people were discovered dead at the scene, and an eighth died in a hospital. The sole survivor, a 3-year-old, is on life support, his grandmother said.
