ASHGABAT, September 6 (RIA Novosti) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez will pay a two-day official visit to Turkmenistan on Sunday, the country's national TV said.
Preparations for the visit were discussed at a session of the Turkmen government on Friday.
Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov praised the forthcoming visit, saying that his country was seeking to establish close ties with both its neighbors and partners from other continents.
The agenda of the visit has yet to be announced.
After a visit to Turkmenistan, Chavez is set to visit Belarus.
