MOSCOW, September 11 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed on Friday concern over Canada's refusal to grant a visa to the head of the Russian upper house's international affairs committee.
Mikhail Margelov was instead given a temporary entry permit.
"The situation is, of course, of concern for us," an official at the ministry's press and mass communication department told RIA Novosti, adding that a statement would be issued once "all the circumstances are clear."
The senator is due to participate in the Inter-parliamentary forum of the Americas (FIPA) in the Canadian capital of Ottawa on September 12-15.
