TURKMENBASHI, September 13 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev arrived on Sunday on a working visit to Turkmenistan to discuss energy issues with his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov.
"The meeting will be focused on cooperation in fuel and energy sector, where we have developed a serious potential," Kremlin aide Sergei Prikhodko said on the eve of the visit.
Both presidents will later be joined by Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev to attend the opening of the final stage of the 2009 - Silk Road rally.
The Silk Road rally from Russia to Turkmenistan via Kazakhstan officially received the prestigious status of a Dakar series rally in March and is held this year between September 5 and 13.
