MOSCOW, September 23 (RIA Novosti) - At least seven people were killed in a crash of an Iranian military airplane outside Tehran, the national television has reported.
The plane crashed on a farm during an air show commemorating the outbreak of the 1980-1988 Iraq-Iran war on Tuesday.
The state media not specify the type of the plane, but said it was used for military transport.
The week-long festivities include military parades and air shows with jet fighters and helicopters. The air show on Tuesday included outdated U.S.-made fighters and bombers, as well as Russian-made MiG-29s and Sukhoi-24s. Iranian-made Saeqeh Thunderbolt aircraft, based on the U.S. F5-E Freedom Fighter, were also participating.
